Investors from Kuwait are ready to invest US$80 million into modernizing Kazakhstan’s National Library. The agreement was reached during the meeting of the library's director Zhanat Seidumanov with chairman of the Nobel GROUP company Khalid Sumait. Thanks to financial support, the building of the National Library will be expanded which will be equipped with modern reading rooms, new Internet and conference rooms and a closed parking lot. Moreover, as part of the project, it is planned to build a hostel and hotel fop employees of the library.

KHALID SUMAIT, CHAIRMAN, NOBEL GROUP:

 - Following an official invitation, I went to Almaty and visited the National Library. The main purpose of a trip was to get acquainted with the project in order to reconstruct and modernize this building. Our company is ready to finance this project. We have already reached a preliminary agreement. Kazakhstan is a state with great potential. We believe that as part of this project our business contacts will give an impetus to development of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Kuwait.

GABIT SADYRBAYEV, HONORED ARCHITECT OF KAZAKHSTAN:

- Today the national library is a facility of culture which hosts international conferences and exhibitions. Apart from reading rooms and the issuing of books, the library can provide the Internet and information access. In this regard new technological designs of the building will be created including office buildings, internet and reading rooms as well as the exhibition and conference halls. This requires construction of new buildings.
