Kazakhstan climbed up to position 41 in 2018 Economic Freedom Index. The ranking is published by The Heritage Foundation. Other Central Asian countries are listed in the international ranking as well. Kyrgyzstan climbed from position 89 to 78. Tajikistan was ranked 106. Uzbekistan’s economic freedom score is 152. The most economically free countries are still Hong Kong, Singapore and New Zealand. The least economically free nations are Cuba, Venezuela and North Korea. In total, the Index covers 12 freedoms, including the level of economic development, trade, governance, policy and investment attractiveness in 186 countries.
