Sooronbay Jeenbekov paid the first official visit to Kazakhstan. The negotiations were devoted to bilateral economic cooperation, prospects of joint work in the sphere of digital technologies, as well as questions in the field of water and energy cooperation. Kazakh President expressed satisfaction with the results achieved on the implementation of the Road Map agreement signed by the governments of the two states, and highlighted the importance of its implementation. The Presidents held negotiations in a narrow format. Nursultan Nazarbayev expressed gratitude to Sooronbay Jeenbekov for accepting an invitation to visit Kazakhstan as part of the official visit and noted that the first visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic is taking place on the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The head of state noted the historically established friendly relations between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Sooronbay Jeenbekov congratulated Kazakhstan on being elected to non-permanent members of the UN Security Council and wished success in the upcoming chairmanship in the international organization. A number of bilateral documents have been signed during the visit.


 - We are happy to welcome you. Kazakhstan is ready to consider all the questions raised by the Kyrgyz delegation. We have been an independent countries for 26 years. Therefore, the duty of each generation is to preserve our friendship and peace for the future


 - Thank you, Mr. Nursultan Abishevich! Firstly, thank you for the official invitation to Kazakhstan. We immediately felt your hospitality as soon as we landed in Astana. Secondly, thank you for your support after the presidential election. You are our aksakal, our elder brother. 25 years have passed since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two states. I will do my best to strengthen the unity of the two countries.

Kazakhstan is one of the leading trade, economic and investment partners of Kyrgyzstan. More than seven hundred joint ventures operate here. The mutual trade turnover increased by 13% and amounted to almost U.S. $600 million in ten months.
