European parliament approved Kazakhstan and the EU agreement

The European Parliament approved an agreement on enhanced partnership and cooperation between Kazakhstan and the EU. 511 members of parliament out of 654 voted for the agreement which was signed in Astana on December 21, 2015 and has been temporarily applied since May 1, 2016. Kazakhstan is the first and only country in Central Asia to have the agreement with the EU. The document has already been ratified in Kazakhstan and 18 other EU member countries.

 - The vote went very well! The absolute majority of all member of the European Parliament with different political backgrounds voted for the ratification of this Treaty. The European Parliament and the European Union understand the importance of Kazakhstan's role in the region, Kazakhstan’s importance in Europe and the world. Kazakhstan has always been a very solid, loyal and reliable partner of the European Union. We are very positive about the future and we expect great hope that it will strengthen and become much better and mutually beneficial.
