The results of the seventh round of Syrian talks in Astana were concluded in Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to diplomats, Kazakhstan has made great efforts to reflect issues of extradition of detainees and prisoners in a joint statement. In addition, the meeting discussed the topics of humanitarian assistance and de-escalation zones in Syria. According to international experts, Kazakhstan as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2017-2018, makes a significant contribution to preservation of peace by providing a platform for Syrian negotiations. The next round of Astana process will be held in mid-December this year.

- Representatives of the armed opposition expressed great gratitude to the Kazakh side for this assistance. During this round of Astana process Nursultan Nazarbayev met with the leaders of the guarantor countries as well as observer countries. This meeting was held for the first time during seven rounds, which means that the Head of State gives special importance to this process.
