Potential of Kazakhstan’s industrial zones
Industrial zones should become drivers of Kazakhstan’s economy. At present, there are 22 facilities with infrastructure built for processing industry in Kazakhstan. More than 100 enterprises with investments worth over 100 billion tenge have been launched. Another 21 plants are being constructed in 13 regions across Kazakhstan. Ekibastuz enterprises grow greenhouse products, and produce heat insulation materials and boiler equipment. It is planned to implement two more projects: a tomatoes cultivation complex and a technical silicon producing plant. Investments are being attracted in the Pavlodar industrial zone. They are launching the production of metalware, assembling special and agricultural equipment. Polish investors expressed interest in the cultivation and processing of crop products.
DANIYAR SHAIMARDANOV, HEAD OF REGIONAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND TOURISM DEPARTMENT:
- We are negotiating with Polish investors on building agricultural processing enterprises on the territory of the industrial zone. 50 hectares land plot in Aksu was allocated for building a new industrial zone. Mineral Industries Group will construct two processing plants. The given industrial zones have all necessary infrastructure, that is, road, heating and water supply.
In the Almaty industrial zone, the first stage of the construction of an ultramodern plant for the production of innovative cable products is about to be completed. The unique project worth $100 million is handled by a large investor who is using the developments of Kazakhstani scientists. Kazakhstan’s raw materials will be processed at seven workshops of the plant. As a result, it will be possible to obtain high quality electric cables.
OLEG PRIHODKO, PROJECT’S DEPUTY HEAD:
- Our plant is advanced. It will literally change the concept of the quality of electric cables and their price. We will launch the first phase of the plant this year.
The plant’s production capacity is 100,000 tonnes of finished products per year. 30% of this volume is enough to cover the demands of Kazakhstan’s market. The rest is planned to be exported abroad.
ZARINA UMAROVA, HEAD OF PUBLIC RELATIONS DEPARTMENT:
- The planned sales markets are the countries of the Eurasian Economic Community, and the Persian Gulf. We are also interested in the huge high-tech markets of South America and China.
Local authorities allocated a land in the industrial zone and brought all the engineering communications. The investor's task is to complete the construction by 2021 and bring the equipment. According to the calculations, the annual tax deductions will make up 4 billion tenge.
