Kazakhstan is becoming a popular tourist destination. American and British travel agencies offer tour packages to Kazakhstan. A group of foreign tourists from these countries will visit Kazakhstan in spring 2018. They will visit several cities in Kazakhstan as part of the tour. The head of the British travel agency Harriet Evans specializes in archaeological research and actively offers its clients a new destination.

HARRIET EVANS, HEAD OF GROUP TOURS, SPECIALIST JOURNEYS:

 - I came to this idea of doing a tour in Kazakhstan based on history and the heritage. We put a toast to vote with our customers and they voted for Kazakhstan as the top choice. Our customer base is not just British people, but American people, Canadians and Australians and so we put the tour on and it was a fantastic success. We had 15 people go. It was really well reviewed and they absolutely loved it, and so we are running it again.

The route lies through Tamgaly archaeological site and petroglyphs, the ancient monuments of rock art of the Zhetisu. Foreign tourists will visit the national park "Altyn-Emel", the archeological complex "Otrar", Turkestan, Kyzylorda, Syganak and Baikonur.

HARRIET EVANS, HEAD OF GROUP TOURS, SPECIALIST JOURNEYS:

 - There is more people want to go. The growth of the Silk Road history is slowly increasing. Recent publications are just boosting the interest in this area. We are trying to focus on that history on that heritage but not taking away from the genuineness.

Italian travel agencies are offering trips to Kazakhstan as well. The royal mounds of Besshatyr, the Charyn Canyon, and the cities of the Silk Road – these new sites trigger interest in the European travel market. Having visited our country, director of the tourist agency in Rome Shirin Soltani, has developed several new routes through the territory of southern Kazakhstan. The route she has created is in demand. Promotion of the cultural heritage of Kazakhstan, including abroad, is an important task outlined in the Nation’s Plan.

SHIRIN SOLTANI, DIRECTOR, SHIRAZ TRAVEL TOURS:

 - I like southern Kazakhstan. There aren’t many significant archaeological sites, as, for example, in Iran or the Middle East, but there are a lot of ancient monuments, such as petroglyphs of Tamgaly or royal burials of Besshatyr, which are 3-4 thousand years old. All this is very impressive, and not only for me. Having noticed the interest of tourists who visited the south of Kazakhstan, I decided to develop a tour to the north of the country this year. Astana will become a part of this route.

Kazakhstan and Oman are planning to develop bilateral tourism. Kazakh diplomats are now working on simplifying the visa entry with the authorities of this Islamic country.

YERZHAN MUKASH, KAZAKH AMBASSADOR TO OMAN:

 - Omanis are interested in visiting Kazakhstan. Several hundred Omani citizens traveled to Astana this year. They visited Astana EXPO 2017. They want to see our mountains, lakes, and nature.

Tourists visit Kazakhstan to see beautiful nature and unique cultural monuments. Kazakhstan is a sort of an open-air museum that can compete with such countries as India, China, the states of the Mediterranean and the Middle East in the travel market.
