The transition to the Latin alphabet is a natural and rational step for Kazakhstan. This is was voiced by French Professor, laureate of the award of Peace and Spiritual Accord of Kazakhstan Albert Fischler. By being aware with the works of Abai Kunanbayev and Mustafa Shokai, the scientist notes the richness and beauty of the Kazakh language and believes that the Latin script is quite suitable for conveying all the subtleties.

ALBERT FISCHLER, FRENCH PROFESSOR, LAUREATE OF PEACE AND SPIRITUAL ACCORD AWARD OF KAZAKHSTAN:

 - The transition to the Latin alphabet is not a new thing since the script was used during 1928 and 1938 in the territory of Kazakhstan. However, today we need to take into account the country’s important role in the world arena. Kazakhstan is the first Central Asian country to become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council and increasingly mediates in solving regional conflicts of different levels. International negotiations on the solution of the Syrian crisis and EXPO 2017 attract attention of the whole world to Astana. Therefore, it is quite natural that the country chooses the Latin alphabet for greater integration into world space. Thanks to development of trilingualism in Kazakhstan, people are familiar with the Latin script. There is no concern here.

Representatives of the Kazakh diaspora in Belgium hold this opinion. They believe that the ability to write and read in their native language with the same letters as compatriots in Kazakhstan is one of the good news. Poetess Yrysaldy Tokeyeva is confident that Latin alphabet is the best way to convey the details of her native speech. In addition, this alphabet once was used by Kazakh people. She claims that her parents and grandparents wrote in Latin.

YRYSALDY TOKEYEVA, POETESS, MEMBER  OF WRITERS' UNION OF KAZAKHSTAN, RESIDENT OF BELGIUM:

 - A developed state needs an advanced language and culture. In order to show the country’s achievements, an understandable font is necessary. I support this idea and the President’s initiative, who led the country to the success throughout the 25 years of independence. The idea increasingly acts as an intermediary in resolving many conflicts on the ground. I think that the transition to the Latin alphabet will allow Kazakh people living abroad to learn more about the culture of their country.
