EXPO 2017: TOURIST ATTRACTION
Many people are trying to visit the Kazakh capital for the EXPO 2017. So do the Parisians. A famous French TV reporter and journalist, Catherine Verger had dreamed about this for several years. She heard a lot about Kazakhstan from her friends and bought tickets long before the start of the exhibition. According to Catherine, she is interested not only in the expo’s theme which is Future Energy but she is also excited about the country as the leading state of Central Asia. In addition to Astana, Catherine is going to visit Almaty and Shymkent in order to better understand the Kazakh culture. Moreover, she already has friends from Kazakhstan and Catherine hopes to find more friends from the country.
CATHERINE VERGER, FRENCH JOURNALIST:
- To me this is also the opening of Central Asia with its New Silk Road and a huge amount of resources. I watched the opening ceremony of the exhibition on TV. It was grand and impressive! Astana now has a new symbol of the city and it's wonderful! I will definitely visit the Kazakh pavilion and pavilions of countries like China and India, and European states. I’m planning to visit Almaty and Shymkent. I will travel around the country with my friends who will help me to discover the culture of your people, language and traditions.
ARNO TISHADOU, FINANCIAL ANALYST, FRANCE:
- This kind of exhibitions give an opportunity to erect large architectural monuments and our Eiffel Tower is a confirmation of this. The symbol of Paris which was built for the expo in 1889 has become an important component in the development of architecture, engineering and culture of our country. I’m sure that the Nur Alem sphere in Astana will also become a very important symbol because we live in an era when we need to take care of sustainable development, the development of renewable energy and the transit of new technologies.
Belarusians are planning to visit the EXPO 2017 in Astana. According to preliminary forecasts, at least three thousand tourists from Belarus will visit the exhibition. Many residents of Belarus are planning to combine a visit to the exhibition and excursions across Kazakhstan into one trip. The peak of tourists from Belarus is expected to be reached during the country’s national day at EXPO 2017 which is scheduled for August 13th.
IRINA MAKAREVICH, TOURIST FROM MINK:
- Absolutely, all the companies that represent future technologies flew there. It is very interesting. I’m an interior designer by profession. Since all technologies are intended to advance developments in order to satisfy vital needs of a human, I really want to see something new for the purpose to understand where we are heading and where our world system is moving. It will be good to see the stars and interesting people at this exhibition. In any case, I just love Kazakhstan.
