REGIONS READY TO WELCOME EXPO TOURISTS
Altynkol train station located on the Kazakh-Chinese border will start receiving passenger trains ahead of EXPO 2017.
NURBIKESH MAUSYMBEKOVA, DEPUTY HEAD OF ALTYNKOL TRAIN STATION:
- Two passenger trains will be launched ahead of the expo. The first one will be Talgo 25G. The passenger flow will always change. The second train will go to Astana, it will be composed in Kostanay. Altynkol station is ready receive passenger trains.
Southern Kazakhstan is preparing to welcome Expo visitors. Restoration of the ancient city Otyrar will be completed soon. Millions of tourists visiting Kazakhstan will have an opportunity to travel in time and see splendors of the past. The legendary settlement will reveal its secrets. The architectural monument of the 12-14th century, mausoleum Arystan Bab, is ready to welcome the visitors.
PERDEKHAN ZHAPPARKULOV, DEPUTY GOVERNOR OF OTYRAR DISTRICT, SOUTH KAZAKHSTAN:
- Reconstruction works and landscaping are still underway. The gates to the ancient settlement have been restored. Tourists will like it. The road to the mausoleum was paved. A number of services will be offered as well.
Some artifacts found during archeological excavations are exhibited in the State museum and reservation, which is also a part of the tourist site. There are over 24,000 unique artifacts in the museum’s fund.
SERIK AKYLBEK, DEPUTY DIRECTOR, LOCAL RESERVATION AND MUSEUM:
- The artifacts of Otyrar settlement are unique, you cannot find them anywhere. There are weapons of the Kazakh Khanate: sabers, arrowheads, chain mails, helmets, fragments of shields. There are also iconic objects.
Local authorities promise to make the site a grandiose tourist attraction. It is going to be a large ethnic village that will take visitors back in time to the world of ancient nomads and ancient Kazakh culture.
