Kazakh and Saudi Arabian scientists entered the close cooperation. Gumilyov Eurasian National University and King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies signed a memorandum of understanding as part of the visit of Prince Turki Al Faisal Al Saud to Astana. The two countries’ scientists will now be able to exchange experience and conduct joint research. Saudi Arabian Prince delivered a lecture at the Eurasian National University. The representative of the Royal family told about cultural and historical ties between the Arabic world and Central Asian region.

 

BAUBEK SOMZHUREK, DEAN, GUMILYOV EURASIAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY:

 - This memorandum will let our students and undergraduates have an opportunity to study not only the Arabic language, but also to engage in scientific research. The relations between the two countries will be strengthened. Saudi Arabia is one of the leading powers in the world. It gives importance to the relationship with Central Asia, including Kazakhstan.

 

TURKI AL FAISAL AL SAUD, PRINCE OF SAUDI ARABIA:

 - Our Center for Research and Islamic Studies will cooperate with Gumilyov Eurasian National University in many spheres. We are planning to share expertise, exchange researchers, and conduct joint projects in culture and humanitarian sciences. We are planning to cooperate with other Kazakh universities as well. King Faisal exhibition where visitors can learn about his life was opened as part of my visit. The given exhibition is being held outside Saudi Arabia for the first time.
