In Expo 2017, South Korea will be represented by government members, CEOs, artists and celebrities. This was announced by the director of the South Korean team Byong Yong Sop at the meeting with the staff of Kazakhstan’s Embassy in Seoul. This specially created department deals with the preparation and organization of events at the Expo in Astana. Kazakhstani diplomats were told about the events to be held by South Korean participants. According to Byong Yong Sop, the theme of the South Korean pavilion is “Future Energy, Smart Life”. The pavilion will be divided into three zones. It is planned to hold the Energy Summit with the participation of the energy ministers of Kazakhstan and South Korea as part of the exposition.

Almost every day of Astana Expo 2017, South Korea will hold events aimed to present the culture of the country. Over 100 South Korean participants will hold more 1,000 events. We will present not only new industrial technologies, but also our culture, and inform about the upcoming winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. There also will be events to mark the 80th anniversary of the deportation of Koreans to Kazakhstan.
The simplified visa entry to Kazakhstan will increase the number of visitors to the international exhibition. There will be a large-scale coverage of the Expo 2017 in the media. This theme was discussed by the chairman of the board of the national company, the chief of the Kazakh Ministry of Information and Communications and the chiefs of the leading Kazakhstani agencies, publications and television channels. The Kazakh Minister of Information and Communications Dauren Abayev stressed that the domestic media pays much attention to the exhibition, because the Expo is aimed to promote Kazakhstan’s image on the world stage.
