Malaysian investors show interest in Kazakhstan
Malaysian businessmen are ready to invest in Kazakhstan. The country has successfully implemented joint projects in oil and gas, agricultural and construction sectors. The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Malaysia Daniyar Sarekenov told about the prospects of bilateral cooperation. The diplomat noted that last year the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to almost 75 million dollars. In the future, the countries intend to increase the volume. Kazakhstan, in particular, plans to increase exports of its products to Malaysia. According to Daniyar Sarekenova, this requires the development of new transport routes.
DANIYAR SAREKENOV, KAZAKH AMBASSADOR TO MALAYSIA:
There are good prospects. We need to work on the development of our joint projects. Later, in case of a new route development, the two-way trade volume will surely rise, because there is interest on both sides. Malaysian companies show interest in transportation.
The results of the large joint projects can be seen today. So, construction of a methanol plant has been in the Mangistau. Malaysian investors are also engaged in the development of cattle-breeding complexes in Zhambyl regions. The total investment volume currently stands at over one billion dollars.
