The UN has supported Kazakhstan’s initiative on creation of the Green Technologies Center at the Expo site. This was announced by the UN High Commissioner Dzhikhan Sultanoglu at the meeting with Chairman of Astana Expo 2017 Akhmetzhan Yessimov. The parties discussed the preparation progress for the world’s fair that will bring together 18 international organizations and 115 states. 20 of them have already started designing their pavilions. The head of the national company expressed confidence that the UN pavilion will present the best projects and developments in renewable sources of energy.

We are very excited by the President’s vision to create an international center for green technologies on the Expo site and as the United Nations we are also happy to be a part of this process. The President has also declared his intention.
