South Kazakhstan region to present five projects at EXPO 2017
Five projects from the South Kazakhstan region will be presented at the Expo 2017 in Astana. The relevant commission is considering eight more interesting projects. According to the organizers, tour routes have been already developed in the region. Travelers will be able to see the regional landmark sights, visit the ancient settlements of Turkistan and Arystanbab, the monuments of Kemekalgan on the Kazygurt pass, visit Akmeshit cave as well as the national parks of the region. With this aim, it is planned to improve the railway and transport links. Presently, work to create the necessary infrastructure is underway across the region. 150 volunteers will work with tourists. They are taking special training.

Passports of sights are prepared in three languages. The signs are installed along the road. We are training special tour guides, hoteliers, museum staff and tour operators.
In general, the development of the tourism industry is especially significant in the region. One more ski resort “Togys tau” will be opened in southern Kazakhstan. The complex is planned to be built in Tolebi district. The total length of the ski base is 8 km. The facilities will be constructed with the help of private investments, which will amount to about 5 billion tenge.
Bukharbay PARMANOV, GOVERNOR OF TOLEBI DISTRICT:
400 million tenge will be allocated for roads construction, 300 million tenge - for electricity. 1.3 billion tenge will be spent on construction of the cable car. Ski resort will work year-round. This will give impetus to the development of the tourism industry.
