During the years of independence, Kazakhstan has been consistently strengthening its position on the world stage. Today, the country is an active participant of global processes. Kazakhstan enters the major international organizations. In Hamburg, at the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the OSCE member-states, which brought together representatives of 57 countries, the Kazakh Foreign Minister stressed the special role of the Organization and outlined the priorities of Kazakhstan’s activities in it. Erlan Idrissov urged the member states to implement the Astana Declaration’s provisions, which was adopted at the OSCE summit in 2010. The Declaration must unite representatives of the Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian space.

This year, we have witnessed new threats posed by ships and technology. There are radicalism and nationalism, pandemics, economic disturbs, the proliferation of nuclear materials, and unprecedented increase in refugees, all of which need new approach. For that matter, the OSCE must evolve to face modern, complex confrontations and to become organization, prepare to meet the challenges of the 21st century, not of the last century.

Participants assured that they are ready to consistently solve modern challenges and to combine all efforts with this aim. After all, they face the most important task to preserve peace, the world free of nuclear weapons and war. Kazakh Minister of Foreign Affairs also mentioned this in his speech. Erlan Idrissov held about 20 meetings as part of his visit. With the heads of delegations, Erlan Idrissov discussed the development of bilateral cooperation, as well as participation of foreign business community in the exhibition Expo 2017.
