From national unity to sustainable development: International-practical conference dedicated to the national concept of Kazakhstan’s development "Mangilik Yel" was held in Almaty ahead of the 25th anniversary of Independence. Intellectuals and creative youth of Kazakhstan, Georgia, Belarus and other neighboring countries gathered on one interactive platform. As experts say, many states have faced the issues of inter-ethnic and intercultural dialogue and cooperation after acquiring sovereignty. Each country had to find own ways of addressing these problems. At that point, the creation Kazakhstan’s People’s Assembly and the development of the "Mangilik Yel" program as means of preserving peace and intercultural harmony was particularly important.

NINO CHIKOVANI, DIRECTOR, INSTITUTE OF CULTURAL STUDIES:

A very interesting way has been found, and we still search for solutions how to preserve this diversity and how to create prosperity rather than problems. We also deal with this, in order to bring up the sense of belonging to one state.
