The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe gave an expert evaluation of Kazakhstan’s draft law on combating terrorism. The remarks were discussed in Mazhilis. The OSCE representatives, Kazakh MPs as well as financiers, lawyers, social activists and representatives of non-parliamentary parties discussed the bill provisions, including migration policies, definition of terrorism and extremism, as well as the penalties for these crimes.

Thank you very much for inviting me here today. Already this morning we had very fruitful discussions. And I also hope that this afternoon, a will have time to present the recommendation made in our opinion. Just in few words I knew that many of you are here this morning so I will try not to repeat too much. I will again highlight the main findings and recommendation.
