Kazakhstan is planning to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 15% by 2030. This will be directly related to utilization of thermal coal. A special group is already working on the methods of reduction of harmful emissions in the atmosphere without hurting the interests of the Kazakh workers. According to the Paris Agreement on climate change, the member states have vowed to keep global average temperature rise below 2 degrees Celsius.

 

Kanat BOZUMBAYEV, KAZAKH MINISTER OF ENERGY:

We will establish a secretariat, and then the secretariat will introduce some regulations that will be followed by the countries. The annual reporting form and analysis will be collected every 5 years and reflect if countries reached certain milestones. A high-level conference will be held in Morocco.
