The amount of pensions and social benefits for 2017 has been announced in the Mazhilis. According to the Vice Minister of Health and Social Development Birzhan Nurymbetov, starting from January 1, pensions will be increased by 9%. In addition, from the beginning of the next year, payment of all social benefits will be increased by 7%, the spokesman of the ministry said. Additional 63 billion tenge will be allocated for these purposes from the 2017-2018 budget will be allocate.



Starting from July 1, 2018, the procedure for appointing the basic pension will change depending on the record of participation in the pension system. The costs for 2018 will total 116 billion tenge, for 2019 the amount will total 249 billion tenge. Starting from January 1, 2018 implementation of the 84th step of the National Plan will be based on the social assistance system’s reform through the introduction of targeted social assistance of the new format.


On Tuesday, the Mazhilis reviewed the budget of the Ministry of Health and Social Development for 2017-2019. The MPs and representatives of the ministry talked about the provision of equipment for medical institutions. As the representatives of the Ministry explained, targeted transfers from the state budget in the amount of 15 billion tenge are provided for the purchase of medical equipment. Local executive bodies are forming relevant applications. Large cities and regional centers will be equipped with expensive medical equipment. In 2018, screening will be conducted at the expense of the compulsory health insurance fund.
