Kazakh farmers have collected record grain yield for the past 25 years and amounted to more than 23 million tons. The amount exceeds the last year’s volume by1.5 times. About 17 million tons of grain was collected in the main grain regions such as Akmola, Kostanay and Northern Kazakhstan. The historical record harvest more than a million tons of harvested wheat was collected in Karaganda region. According to the Vice Minister of Agriculture Kairat Aituganov, the harvesting of cotton, sugar beet and rice is still ongoing in the Southern Kazakhstan.

 

Kairat AITUGANOV, FIRST DEPUTY MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE:

Gross harvest of rice amounted to 432 thousand tons this year with the average yield at 51 centners per hectare. The harvesting campaign is coming  to end in Kyzylorda, the main rice producing region and, reached 52.9 centners per hectare, which is the record volume in the history of Kazakhstan’s independence.
