Astana Declaration was adopted at the Asian Inter-Parliamentary Forum. It is aimed at strengthening of inter-parliamentary Islamic cooperation in the field of science, technology and innovation.

 

Beibit MAMRAYEV, MEMBER OF MAZHILIS, LOWER HOUSE OF KAZAKH PARLIAMENT:

It will inspire Kazakhstan and the entire Asian region, especially the science, to new constructive actions for the benefit of countries and economies. Today it is not productive to divide the countries. At present there are a lot of scientific ideas, we need to determine and direct them for the sake of human life.

 

Abulkasim EL-BADRI, SPOKESMAN, ARAB LEAGUE EDUCATIONAL, CULTURAL AND SCIENTIFIC ORGANIZATION:

First of all, I would like to thank the Republic of Kazakhstan and people of Kazakhstan and president Nazarbayev for inviting for this very important meeting, which will strengthen cooperation between Muslim countries. Also I would like to express my deep appreciation for Nazarbayev’s initiative for launching organization for food security. This is a very good step towards solving problems of hunger among Muslim countries. 

 

Asian Inter-Parliamentary Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation completed in Astana. During two days, representatives from 25 countries and 10 international organizations discussed the prospects of strengthening cooperation for the development of educational and scientific capacity. Moreover, the main focus was made on the improvement of legislative activity of parliamentarians in these areas.
