Astana hosted round table on legislative measures to prevent extremism and terrorism in Kazakhstan. The debate was attended by members of Parliament, representatives of state agencies, NGOs, public and religious figures, political analysts and experts. As Mazhilis Chairman Nurlan Nigmatulin noted, consolidated position of the whole society will help to fight against this dangerous phenomenon, which threatens not only Kazakhstan but the whole world.

 

Nurlan NIGMATULIN, CHAIRMAN OF MAZHILIS:

We need to intensify the fight against this evil. Therefore, our president has given all the necessary instructions, in accordance with which we need to amend legislative base to counter this dangerous phenomenon. Today's discussion of the draft law shows that all the civil society - political parties, non-governmental organizations and media support this bill.
