About $2 billion have been invested by Turkish businessmen in the economy of Kazakhstan as part of the public-private partnership projects. At the forum they discussed further prospects of cooperation of both countries. Foreign investors are interested in sponsoring the development of transport infrastructure, health and tourism. In general, it’s planned to implement more than 270 projects with participation of foreign companies. One of the largest of them is the construction of the Big Almaty Ring Road, which will start next year.

 

Nevzat UYANYK, AMBASSADOR OF TURKEY TO KAZAKHSTAN:

We have invested $2 billion in various sectors of the economy of Kazakhstan. In general, Turkish investments are regular. Our country has the necessary experience in the field of PPP, so we always support the cooperation and knowledge-sharing between PPP centers.

Today’s forum of Kazakhstan and Turkey is aimed at the exchange of knowledge and experience between the two countries. It includes the consideration of issues on the correct structuring of PPP projects in financial and legal aspects.
