Technological Festival ‘Tech Garden Fair’ was held in Almaty. One of the largest in Central Asian events was dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the ‘Park of innovative technologies’, which develops long-term projects. One of them is the production of a unique coating for oil tanks and production of nano powder for 3D printers. The projects are elaborated be the centers created in collaboration with multinational companies such as McKinsey and IBM.

Basically, we are trying to compound the mining and metallurgic complex with oil and gas sector. That is, polymers and powder metallurgy so to say. All this is aimed to produce materials for 3D printers. You know, this is the future of engineering.

 

The plant for the production of telecommunications equipment successfully operates on the territory of the specific economic zone. By these means 400,000 Kazakhstan families have already connected to a digital television.

 

Nurlan ZHANIBEKOV, PLANT DIRECTOR:

We receive benefits as part of customs duties and privileges of corporate income tax. It means that as production workers we perform all the duties to get these preferences.

 

The Park of innovative technologies pays most attention to startup projects. The experts reviewed nearly 900 projects during the year, 40 of the most attractive ideas will receive funding and the opportunity to be elaborated on the Park basis. And, the best of them will be sent to Silicon Valley.
