Total 60 new investment projects will be launched in Kazakhstan this year. 20 of them will start in the near future while 40 are still under development. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Investments and Development Yerlan Hairov. According to him, over the past 10 years, investors have invested more than $200 billion into the economy of Kazakhstan. First of all, foreign businessmen are interested in the country’s manufacturing, mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals, information and communications. In addition, investors who represent priority sectors and invest in a project more than $12 million are exempt from corporate income tax and land tax for 10 years, as well as of property tax for 8 years.

 

Yerlan HAIROV, VICE MINISTER OF INVESTMENTS AND DEVELOPMENT OF KAZAKHSTAN:

At the legislative level, we have an entrepreneurial code. It prescribes a specific section on investments, and we fully prescribed the safety of investments, those international measures on safety of investments. Secondly, we have 48 agreements on mutual protection of investment incentives with the leading countries of the world. This is the common core document that allows the investor to operate in our country.
