Kazakhstan’s state procurement portal mitwork.kz is planning to enter the market of the Eurasian Economic Union in the next two years, the developers stated. The portal is considered to be the third largest in the country. Commercial organizations and quasi-public sectors can register on the website. It can be used to carry out full-cycle public procurement from planning to conclusion of electronic contracts. In total, there are about 7,000 suppliers on the site right now and more than 4.5 million purchases have been carried out. All companies participating in the contest undergo a special audit on the basis of open data.

SALTANAT KUDABAYEVA, DEPUTY DIRECTOR GENERAL, MITWORK:

If earlier there were only two suppliers for each purchase, now there are more opportunities for other suppliers after the launch of the website. Now up to 12 suppliers could participate at once. This saved about 20% of our customers’ assets. We guarantee six levels of data protection; therefore we had to get security certification. We are planning to receive an international patent in near future.
