Exactly here was found the metallurgical furnace, which was melting the metal 2,000 years ago.

 

Remains of smelting furnaces were found by archaeologists of the North Kazakhstan region near the village Dolmatovo. According to scientists, more than 2 thousand years ago Saki tribes not only smelted metal, but also made weapons, tools, household items and decorations.

They could melt metal not in every settlement. And here, the most northern point and, most likely they used metal marsh, bog iron. It means that they collected bog iron and melted down them. And, they made tools and everything else.

 

The ancient settlement near the village Dolmatovo was discovered almost half a century ago. But archaeological work began in 2003. The researchers also found a well, which was 2,000 years, at least. Village specialists examined them by unmanned vehicles.

Our region is sufficient, we can say that this area is a little investigated. They had a very large territory with a little population. Very often that shepherd finds such places when he wrangles. They could be found with help of unmanned equipment.

 

This ancient city is called by archaeologists as ‘The White Paradise’ which lay on the northern branch of the Silk Road. It is planned to open an open air museum here.
