Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov paid a working visit to West Kazakhstan region. Prime Minister took a look at the reconstruction process of the highway Uralsk-Taskala to the border with Russia. The works are held within the framework of the program ‘Nurly Zhol’. 27 kilometers out of 104 kilometers will be repaired this year. It is planned to fully commission the road in 2018. The total cost will amount to 23 billion tenge.

Under the contract, we give a guarantee of five years. I think that proper maintenance of the road will extend this term to at least 10 years. And this road is designed for 13 tons of axle load.

Good roads are the key to the investment attractiveness of the region. Over three years 19 billion tenge was allocated from the budget for the construction and repair of highways.  Coverage on 300 kilometers of roads was reconstructed. Now it is necessary to reconstruct the international route ‘Podstyopnoye-Fyodorovka- Orenburg’, as well as the border crossing point ‘Syrym’ due to increased transit traffic flow.

Construction of highways is priority for the region. Therefore, we need to focus on this, prepare all the necessary resources and lay a network of roads throughout the region ahead of the 25th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s independence

Prime Minister of Kazakhstan visited the canning factory. More than 100,000 cans of meat, vegetable and fish are produced here annually. Part of the production is exported to Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and Russia. After putting into operation the share of exports of finished products will increase to 50%. Karim Massimov also spoke with agricultural producers and held meeting with local community.
