At least three people were killed as a result of wildfires on the Portuguese island of Madeira. Over 170 local residents received medical assistance. Fire destroyed 30 homes and led to the evacuation of more than a thousand people in the city of Funchal. The fire extinguishing involved several thousand people, but their work is complicated by strong winds. The cause of the disaster has become a stable heat above 35 degrees Celsius.
