One of the Atyrau farms launched the production of mare's milk kumys.  The dairy product is delivered not only to Kazakhstan’s market but is also exported to neighboring Russia. In addition to kumys, the farm produces almost all their varied milk line, providing the market of the regional center by almost 40%.

 

Gulzhan KOSHMAGAMBETOVA, TECHNOLOGIST OF PRODUCTION:

Mare's milk is processed by the technology similar to the home one. No additives, just pure mare’s milk. We produce three kinds of kumys of different acidity so that the buyer had a choice.

 

Farmers took a loan of 5 billion tenge to launch the production. With this money businessmen bought 1,000 Holstein-Friesian cows, modern processing equipment, bottling and packaging of dairy products. The company began to produce milk, sour cream, cottage cheese and yogurt.

 

Amanzhol ESKARIEV, HEAD OF PEASANT FARM:

We had to compete with well-known suppliers of dairy products from different countries. The quality was our main advantage. Today, we cover 40% at the local market. We plan to upgrade the production of shubat and kumys.
