Archaeologists in East Kazakhstan region have discovered another sensational finding. Burial of a noble man was found on Berel Burial Mounds. Seven sacrificial horses were buried beside him, and their harnesses were decorated with gold plaques in Saka animal style. Apparently, a rich nobleman of Saka period, or a wife of a king were buried here, say scientists.

Zeynolla SAMASHEV, ARCHAEOLOGIST:

This is a sensational discovery, which sheds light on the mysteries of history. They are very valuable exhibits. There are unique decorations in Saka animal style. Berel continues to surprise us. We want to dedicate our works to Kazakhstan's Independence anniversary.

The distinguishing feature of jewelry is the use the image of a rooster in them, which is a rare bird in the culture of ancient nomads, experts share opinion. Also, a huge clay jug was found in the mound. Scientists believe that Berel will still have more discoveries. Foreign experts have already arrived in the region.

Galina SUVOROVA, RESEARCH FELLOW OF REGIONAL HISTORY MUSEUM:

Well, foreigners are excited, because they don’t have such a culture there. The cultures of Scythian or Saka are the cultures of the steppes. And so for the Europeans, even for Eastern representatives, who come from Korea, Japan it is surprising. They always admire these kinds of monuments.

Soon everyone will be able to see priceless finds of the Berel mounds. An open-air museum is planned to be opened in the region. Already 40 million tenge is allocated from the regional budget for this.

Danial AKHMETOV, GOVERNOR OF EAST KAZAKHSTAN REGION:

This is a new contribution to the history of Kazakhs, to the history of our country. There is beautiful land of Kazakhstan, the beautiful lands of the region. We see wonderful nature here. And, of course, we want to make this place a tourist destination. Therefore, in the near future, a special glass sarcophagus will be built on this archaeological site.
