Government members discussed the future harvest and the development of agro-industrial complex during their working visit to North Kazakhstan region. The most important issue the access of farmers to government subsidies has been discussed at the meeting with farmers. The local villagers, who sow one third of all cultivated wheat in the country, have sown over 4 hectares of farmland. They used the new technology and now hope to increase production.

 

Askar MYRZAKHMETOV, DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER, MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE OF KAZAKHSTAN:

 

We currently offer redistribution of funds under the current program. For example, 5 billion is allocated for the purchase of pesticides; this is a program on fight against dangerous diseases. 1.5 billion of this amount will be spent on pesticides themselves and other 3.5 billion will be used for transportation, processing, and storage. We offer producers themselves to buy them while choosing any kind of suitable pesticides, and then upon your purchase we adjust the entire amount at the depreciation of purchased volumes.

 

Airport reconstruction to be completed soon

 

In addition, members of the government delegation visited a number of social facilities in the region. Petropavlovsk airport will be able to service international level aircrafts starting from this year. 5 billion tenge has been allocated from the state treasury and fully utilized for the restoration of the runway last year. Now reconstruction of the passenger terminal has started.

The current work load includes work of dismantling and the construction of all utilities and facade. All the necessary X-ray-television equipment, sensors, detectors will be procured soon.

 

Delegation of government members visits North Kazakhstan region

 

The delegation has also visited a kindergarten construction site. The preschool education facility is being constructed as part of Nurly Zhol program and designed for 320 children. The kindergarten will be commissioned soon.
