Issues of energy development and cultural issues were on primary focus of the Mazhilis deputies during a working visit to Almaty. During the trip to the metropolis, the MPs met with workers of Kasteyev State Museum of Arts and the oldest thermal power station. Theaters and museums can make profit in Kazakhstan nowadays. Collectors need auctions, museums need to expand their collections and share values. The new law was adopted to develop this sphere as part of "100 concrete steps" program.

Gulnar IKSANOVA, CHAIRWOMAN, COMMITTEE FOR SOCIO-CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT OF MAJILIS:

The museum now uses all means to attract residents to the great values that are available in the museum's archives, museum collections. And on the other hand, the museum is restricted by narrow archaic approaches that, unfortunately, have deeply penetrated this area. We will address these issues.

MPs also asked the opinion of museum staff about the reforms in the field of education and answered questions. Employees of the Central Heating and Power Plant expressed interest in the social themes. The plant employs nearly 500 people. Thermal power plant was transferred to the gas - it was the only solution to the problem, since the transfer of the plant is technologically challenging and expensive process.

Serik KUSSAINOV, MEMBER OF MAZHILIS LOWER HOUSE OF KAZAKH PARLIAMENT:

In general, I think the company is very well-prepared and modernized. I think that there should be no problem with heat supply in Almaty.
