President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has sent condolence letter over the recent terrorist attack in Istanbul to Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The Head of State stressed that no one is left indifferent to the fact that the terrorist act was committed in the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. ‘Kazakhstan strongly condemns the actions of the international extremism and terrorism that threaten the security of the world’, - said in the telegram. On behalf of the people of Kazakhstan and on own behalf, Nursultan Nazarbayev expressed condolences to the families of the victims and the brotherly people of Turkey and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

There are no Kazakhstan citizens among those killed and injured in the terrorist attack in Istanbul, according to the statement of the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Republic strongly condemns the terrorist attack in Istanbul. Kazakhstan reaffirms its support for the uncompromising fight against terrorism in all its manifestations, and calls for further strengthening of the coordination of international efforts in this direction, including through the creation of a broad international anti-terrorist coalition.

Ataturk airport attack death toll reaches 43

Three powerful explosions have thundered last night at the international airport of Istanbul. Gunmen opened fire at the main terminal building and then blew themselves up. Most of the victims are citizens of Turkey, also five citizens of Saudi Arabia, one of Ukraine, China, Tunisia, Iraq, Uzbekistan and Iran were among them. The Initial data of investigators indicate that the terrorist act was committed by the IS militants. The terrorists arrived at the airport in a taxi, opened fire and then blew themselves up. Investigative activities are still ongoing. But the airport is open, and air traffic has returned to normal.
