The country has started to accept applications of scientists for technologies’ commercialization since March 1. The World Bank has allocated $110 million for the project. The major part will be used to implement the promising developments of scientists. According to president of the ‘Science Foundation’ Amandyk Tuleshov, the special international commission which includes Kazakh scientists will select interesting projects.

 

Amandyk TULESHOV, PRESIDENT OF ‘SCIENCE FOUNDATION’ JSC:

Projects shall meet requirements concerning the scientific novelty, innovation and some items in economic and marketing parts. We will pay attention to the plan of implementation, schedule and the desired final result.

 

This year, interesting applications are expected to come from young scientists. Over the past 5 years the number of young talents has grown by about 30%. The announced program of technology commercialization will become the second project implemented with the World Bank. The previous one showed good results, the staff of ‘Science Foundation’ noted. 40 out of 65 supported projects reported on the achieved sales amount of 900 million tenge.
