Astana EXPO-2017 cut costs by another 53 billion tenge. This was stated by the Company’s Chairman of the Board Akhmetzhan Yessimov to the head of state in Akorda. Astana EXPO-2017 NC chief reported on the construction of exhibition facilities to Nursultan Nazarbayev. Head of the national company noted that the total amount of savings reached 131 billion tenge. According to Akhmetzhan Yessimov, this measure won’t affect the work quality.

At present, more than 230 Kazakhstani companies are operating on EXPO facilities, as the total amount of contracts has reached 77 billion tenge. The construction of facilities is on schedule. Pavilions will be commissioned this fall, after which each of the participating countries will work on design. According to Akhmetzhan Yessimov, 70 states have already confirmed their participation in this large-scale project.

Nursultan NAZARBAYEV, PRESIDENT OF KAZAKHSTAN:

The whole world is watching us and waiting. Firstly, it is necessary to clarify who will participate in the exhibition, and secondly, what we will use to fill the exhibition. Thirdly, we need to decide what projects will be presented in Kazakhstan’s Pavilion. Another important question refers to how and where guests will be met and accommodated. Is there proper infrastructure for this? What will we show them? We need to demonstrate them our culture. How many young people will assist as volunteers? They will get great experience; they will witness the scale of the exhibition. We are facing a great work.  Our people will cover 80% of all guests, won’t they? How will communications, roads, transportation from country’s regions be organized?

Akhmetzhan YESSIMOV, CHAIRMAN OF BOARD, ‘ASTANA EXPO-2017’ NC:

We have already signed contracts with all mayor’s and governor’s offices.

Nursultan NAZARBAYEV, PRESIDENT OF KAZAKHSTAN:

It is necessary to ensure the maximum number of Kazakhstani people at the exhibition. We also need to show the latest achievements of science to all visitors.
