 - Development of the Kazakh language depends on the dictionaries. There was a three-volume Turkic dictionary by Mahmud Kashgari in the beginning, as well as medical dictionaries of Latin medicine. Because there are many languages in medicine, biology and chemistry use Latin. Transition to the Latin script is being discussed in Kazakhstan. In addition, a great Chinese-Kazakh dictionary was published at the initiative of the authors headed by Duken Masimkhanuly.

Among the most significant publications is the encyclopedia about great Kazakh public figure and enlightener Akhmet Baitursynov. The seven hundred pages publication contains all the information about him. A book about Alash movement with works by famous Alash movement participants written in 1917-1919 was issued as well. In addition, textbooks describing the main milestones of national history, as well as Kazakh khans, biys, batyrs (warriors) and other famous Kazakh personalities have been published for the education of the younger generation.

YERBOL TLESHEV, DIRECTOR, SHAYAKHMETOV LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT CENTER:

 - We created a fifteen-minute children's animation film, which explains the origin of Kazakh words in detail. This cartoon lets children learn the language with the help of the game in an easy, accessible way.

The books have modern style design. Each published book has an electronic version on a CD-ROM and is available on the Internet.
