"Kazakhstan’s transition to the Latin alphabet will allow the country to master high technologies quicker"
More than 30 countries which are considered as economically and technologically advanced states use the Latin script. According to Wu Chuke, professor of Ethnographic Studies at the Central University of Nationalities in China, Kazakhstan’s transition to the Latin alphabet will allow the country to master high technologies quicker. The scientist says that Kazakhstan has become an established state which is recognized throughout the world.
WU CHUKE, PROFESSOR, ETHNOGRAPHIC STUDIES, CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF NATIONALITIES IN CHINA:
- President Nursultan Nazarbayev signed a decree on the transition to the Latin alphabet. This has become a far-sighted and timely decision. Today more than 30 countries use the Latin script. This will be a powerful impetus in Kazakhstan’s development.
President of Prussian community, Volker Chapke says that the transition to the Latin alphabet is a historic step for Kazakhstan. The German expert highlighted that the presidential initiative is a fateful event that will have a powerful impetus to the country’s development.
FOLKER CHAPKE, PRESIDENT, PRUSSIAN COMMUNITY IN GERMANY:
- President's decision to switch to the Latin alphabet is a very valuable initiative. This is a step that will remain in Kazakhstan’s history. The transition to the Latin alphabet will lay a strong bridge between Europe and Kazakhstan. Your country will only benefit from this. This is very important for diplomacy, business, especially for the IT industry as well as development of tourism. For example, tourists can easily find out where they are and even read the names of cities and streets in Kazakh. Of course, this is an important part of the Modernization 3.0 program and I wish Kazakhs success in its implementation.
