Approved by president Nursultan Nazarbayev, the new Kazakh alphabet is widely discussed in Kazakhstan and overseas. Industrial market research consultant Lance Leverette said that the new option will facilitate the study and progression of Kazakh language all over the world.

LANCE LEVERETTE, INDUSTRIAL MARKET RESEARCH CONSULTANT:

- For internationalization purposes going forward it will make a lot easier. I know the other programs, the three languages, Kazakh, Russian and English. Again that will broaden and I think that is just very Kazakh way of doing it, being open to both the East and the West.  Again going forward, I think, is a good plan. It will make it easier but it would be a little bit tough culturally, I think, you are already there.

According to professor at the Warsaw University, Hieronim Grala, the transition to the Latin script will be a big impulse in Kazakhstan’s development. The Polish expert highlighted the relevance of president’s initiative.

HIERONIM GRALA, HISTORIAN, PROFESSOR AT WARSAW UNIVERSITY:

- I think this will be a big impulse for Kazakhstan’s network development in the world. The choice made by president Nazarbayev is a very wise one. From Nursultan Nazarbayev’s perspective one of the messages of this reform is without doubt, the integration into the Latin-speaking culture.
