Ultra-modern and automated technologies of digital design like sewing robots with artificial intelligence, three-dimensional body scanner and 3-D modeling system will be introduced at enterprises of the light industry in Kazakhstan. According to Kazakh Ministry of Investments and Development spokesperson, innovations will increase labor productivity and significantly reduce the costs of production. According to experts, innovations are cost effective which enhance the competitiveness of domestic products in both domestic and global markets. Kazakh officials, specialists in the garment industry, scientists and university professors gathered together in Astana to discuss the challenges of the light industry.

BELA UMRALIYEVA, DEAN, ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT, KAZAKH UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY AND BUSINESS:

 - We aim to create a competitive market of garments. Our market is full of imported goods. We will work to ensure that our garment enterprises have their own competitive assortments that will be on the market and take over some of the foreign producers. We will organize fairs and fashion shows.

Domestic textile products should be in demand ensuring the domestic demand in the first place, experts say. For this purpose, the industrial and research cooperation center will be opened at the Institute of Design and Technology.

 - The main goal of the institute will be research development, competitive assortment collections, assistance to enterprises from the beginning to the development of collections, assistance in sales management, promotion of goods and forecasting the clothing industry market. These works will be done in the institute.

The science lab equipped with the world-class equipment as well as research and technical library will be located in the institute. In addition, professionals from abroad will be attracted to work in the institute.
