Innovations in mining industry
Modernization of the mining and metallurgical industry is one of Kazakhstan’s strategic goals. Astana hosted a presentation of developments by domestic scientists. The scientists’ developments can improve the performance of the industrial companies. The forum of innovators gathered more than 300 participants. For example, the developers suggest using virtual reality glasses to remotely monitor the quarry. The Quarry of Augmented Reality project will allow company managers to monitor the work process and improve its efficiency.
YURI LITVISHKOV, PROJECT AUTHOR:
-This is a product that models and allows gamification of the operations in the quarry. It will be possible to see the quarry model and control the parameters of the model’s functions in order to see the productivity and effectiveness of the quarry.
In total, more than 50 different know-hows took part in the competition. This is twice higher comparing to last year. The projects are aimed at increasing the operational efficiency of the industrial companies.
ALIK AIDARBEKOV, KAZAKH VICE MINISTER FOR INVESTMENT AND DEVELOPMENT:
- Following years until 2023-2025, the Eurasian Resources Group is going to invest nearly 600 billion tenge on modernization including digitalization. We are discussing these specific projects with large companies so we will jointly develop the road maps and we will interact with them to implement these road maps.
The best innovative projects by domestic scientists will be applied in production. Last year, the overall efficiency of implemented projects exceeded 20 billion tenge. This year according to forecast, the realized projects’ effectiveness will be amounted to 25 billion tenge.
