Almaty Tech Garden established cooperation with international funds in order to develop innovative infrastructure. The project is a part of Start Up Kazakhstan program. Investors have been found for 10 projects out of 40. Tech Garden includes the Park of Innovative Technologies operating since 2006. There are 155 organizations, 66 of them are IT companies. They are financed both from state budget and private investments.

 - Nearly 24 billion tenge from state budget and the same amount of private investments have been allocated for the special economic zone’s infrastructure development. It is the contribution of both the government and private investors

 

Telecommunications equipment production was launched in the Park of Innovative Technologies in 2012. The plant assembles set-top boxes. The company manufactured 500,000 items for the sale in the Kazakhstan’s market and neighboring states.

 

ROMAN KIM, HEAD OF PRODUCTION OF TELECOMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT:

 - We are financed by private investments. The economic zone’s regulations helped us as well. We were provided all the necessary facilities, benefits, assistance in customs clearance.

 

At present, the innovation cluster works with seven international companies to implement various projects such as the creation of laboratories for additive engineering, smart and financial technologies.

The opportunity to create high level business will appear this year. Almaty Tech Garden is planning to launch a representative office in Silicon Valley.
