EXPO 2017 pavilions are attracting Kazakh and foreign tourists. Participating countries organize national days to demonstrate their green technologies and traditions. Greece presented its culture and innovative projects to expo visitors. The main theme of the Greek pavilion is “Energy is in the Air’. Greece is actively developing wind power. Solar energy is being developed as well. The share of energy generated from alternative energy sources amounts for 15% in the Mediterranean country. Greece is planning to increase this figure to 20% by 2020. As for Greek pavilion, it attracts visitors with its originality.

 

AYAN BATYRKHANOV, GUIDE, GREECE EXPO PAVILION:

 - The most important thing here is a special atmosphere of Greece. It is a Greek style pavilion. It is quiet here. There is a simulation of the sea, sea foam. It feels like walking along the pier. People feel rested after staying in our pavilion.

 

The Solomon Islands presented their potential at EXPO 2017. The solemn part of the National Day was attended by the minister of mining, energy and electrification of rural areas of this country. David Day Pacha emphasized the importance of renewable energy. The question of dependence on imports of energy resources is acute on the Solomon Islands since there is the highest price for fuel. A phyto-electric solar power plant has been operating on the islands for two years now. The project was invested by the Arab Emirates and New Zealand. It is also planned to open a number of hydroelectric power stations in the country.

 

ILYA URAZAKOV, SENIOR STAFF, ASTANA EXPO 2017:

- This is a unique opportunity for Kazakhstani business and first of all for  those countries that are interested in Central Asian region. The delegation is headed by the Minister of Energy of the Solomon Islands, who is offering interesting investment projects for the Kazakh business in the sphere of hydropower.

 

Hot Latin American dances were performed on the National Day of Argentina at EXPO 2017. Visitors enjoyed the performance of tango and malambo, the dance of the Argentine gaucho.

Kazakh Mnister of Information and Communications and Argentinean Minister of the Federal System of Media and Public Content attended the National Day of Argentina. Dauren Abayev visited the Argentine pavilion. Argentina is presenting "creative energy" at the EXPO-2017. Hernan Lombardi spoke about the relevance of the expo theme. He said that ‘Future Energy’ is one of the main priorities of the Government of Argentina.

 - We are extremely concerned about the future of the planet and we are aware of the need to develop new sources of energy in order to find a balance between economic and sustainable development.

 

The capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires, bid to hold a specialized exhibition EXPO in 2023, which will be held from January to April. The project will be dedicated to creative industries in digital convergence.
