Italian scientists of the Lazio region have presented 16 projects on innovative solar panels, inexpensive batteries and marine wave power generators in Rome. These scientific projects are designed to be showcases at the EXPO 2017 in Astana. The Italian metropolitan area will participate in the exhibition late July. The virtual avatars of the developers will convey the most interesting innovations of the national pavilion. Visitors will know how vegetable fibers are used in construction. Moreover, the guests will be introduced to hydrogen at heating the buildings and graphene used in manufacturing solar panels. According to scientists, the most popular technology are the cost-effective and capacious batteries without which the transition to alternative energy is impossible.

LIVIO DE SANTOLI, PROFESSOR, LA SAPIENZA UNIVERSITY:

 - We need new energy storage systems that are inexpensive and efficient. Renewables are not programmable. In order to use them in a stable manner, we need to install batteries of different types in existing electrical systems. When the sun is shining and the wind is blowing, the energy will be accumulated and then it can be used at any time.

GUIDO FABIANI, MEMBER OF LAZIO REGION ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL:

- Taking part in the expo is very important for us. A state with one of the most dynamic economies in the world, Kazakhstan is hosting the exhibition. Energy solutions are of great importance. We have many innovative projects and we want to cooperate with you to establish strong ties between scientists, research centers and business representatives.
