Regional culture days are being marked as part of EXPO 2017. North Kazakhstan region’s creative collectives organized a cultural event. Masters of applied art presented more than 700 wares in the national cultural complex. Sports competitions were held. The region presented unique historical documents for the first time.

 

MADIYAR KOZHAKHMET, ACTING HEAD OF GOVERNOR’S OFFICE OF NORTH KAZAKHSTAN REGION:

 - Magzhan Zhumabayev’s rare documents that were top secret have been presented to the visitors. The Script is dated August 20, 1922.

 

South Kazakhstan region showcased its developments. The region organized national equestrian sports competitions in ‘Kazanat’ racetrack. More than 100 athletes took part in various types of competitions such as audyraspak, kyz kuu, zhamby atu, tenge alu, kusbegilik. Along with horse race, there were Kazakh wrestling competitions and togyz kumalak.

 

ALIBEK NURTAYEV, HEAD OF SPORTS DEPARTMENT, SOUTH KAZAKHSTAN REGION:

 - Asia champions on audyraspak are participating today. Kokpar championship has just finished. Seven athletes represented our region, they became world champions. International competitions on audyraspak have been recently held as part of EXPO 2017 and three athletes from our region became champions.

 

Nearly 700 artists of South Kazakhstan region performed at the gala concert. 600 dombra players, ‘Kazyna’, ‘Shamsinur’, ‘Tumar’ and ‘Shattyk’ dance ensembles and soloists of Kaldayakov philharmonic have been entertaining the visitors.
