Preparation to Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018

Young talents are competing for the chance to represent Kazakhstan at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018. The application process for the national talent search will end in over a week. Parents of the talents have submitted their application on Channel Khabar’s website every day. The contest is open to children aged between 9 and 14.

The applicants should provide their full name, gender, date of birth, place of residence and study, citizenship, contacts and the song data. They also need to upload their individual photos and original song. The applicants then become participants in the national selection.

AIDOS TURYSBEK, GENERAL PRODUCER, CHANNEL KHABAR:

- There’s little time left. Applications should be submitted until August 31st. Therefore, I would like to draw attention of the parents of our talented children and encourage them to participate in this contest and submit the application. It is a great opportunity for our children. It is a large nationwide and international project where children can demonstrate their talents and represent Kazakhstan.

According to the terms, a 3-minute composition should be recorded in a professional studio and performed for the first time. The song must be in Kazakh but 40 per cent of the lyrics can be in English. According to the Kazakh organizers, the song should be clear and memorable. The audience should be able to hear and sing along with it. These are the qualities of Euro-pop songs.

AIDOS TURYSBEK, GENERAL PRODUCER, CHANNEL KHABAR:

- The style originated in the 70s in European countries such as France and Germany. The songs have a light rhythm and catchy lyrics. Prominent followers of this genre include ABBA, the popular Swedish group and Modern Talking, a famous European group. The song must be in the similar style.

The finale of the annual international Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 will take place on November 25th in Minsk.  Kazakh viewers can watch the show live on Channel Khabar.
