Astana hosted the Second International "Shashu" Art Festival

Astana hosted the Second International Shashu Art Festival featuring virtuoso performances on the dombyra, unusual choreographic productions and professional vocal performances. More than 650 talented children from Kazakhstan, Russia and Kyrgyzstan took part in the festival. They competed in nominations such as choreography, singing, folk singing and instrumental music. A professional jury consisted of well-known artists and Kazakh stars assessed the contestants. According to the jury, the grand prize winners got a good start. They will later represent their countries at one of the major international art festivals.

TAUYRZHAN RAKHAT, FESTIVAL ORGANIZER:

 - In general our project includes several international festivals. We will organize an international art festival in Turkey’a Kemer and Antalya betwee May 3rd and May 10th. Teams from Kazakhstan, Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Macedonia and Germany will take part in the festival.

DILYARA ARYSTANBEKOVA, FESTIVAL PARTICIPANT:

 - I've been singing since I was 8 years old. I won the grand prize in the ‘Folk singing’ nomination. I will represent our country abroad. I am very happy.

Representatives of Kazakhstan initiated a large-scale creative competition in order to strengthen friendly and cultural ties between young talented people from different countries.
