KARLYGASH KARMAKPAYEVA, HEAD OF RESEARCH LIBRARY, ALMATY:

 - Mashkhur Zhussup Kopeyev’s works studied by scientists are presented at the other stand. There are works printed on a typewriter in the Latin script, there are also hand-written works rewritten in the Cyrillic alphabet. We show these documents because they present historical significance. The documents also contain personal records. There are permission letters that allow or forbid printing of the works.

A portrait of the prominent Kazakh poet and dombyra player Akyn Sara was added to the collection of Almaty’s local history museum named after Mukhamedzhan Tynyshpayev. The daughter of Russian sculptor, architect, artist Margarita Vashchenko donated the valuable exhibit as a gift to Kazakhstan’s museum. The picture is painted according to the memories of the contemporaries and very precisely reproduces the image of the great poet. The artist visited Akyn Sara’s motherland where she gathered the information about her. Other exhibits were also provided to the museum along with the portrait. Shokan Ualikhanov’s bust and a number of paintings of the artist are also among them. Delivery of the valuable items is dedicated to the Modernization of Public Consciousness Program.

MURATBEK IMANGAZINOV, PROFESSOR:

 - Akyn Sara’s portraits that were previously painted at the request of authors and relatives were not good. The relatives said that it was not exactly Akyn Sara, but Vashchenko addressed this work with mastery and precision and painted Akyn Sara’s portrait. When relatives and contemporaries saw this portrait they said that it was fine.
