Love songs in Astana Opera

Classicla music world is rich in characters and protagonists who are in love, like Kyz Zhibek, Juliette, to name a few. These literary and musical characters convey the greatest feeling of all – love. Beauty and loyalty of these characters served as inspiration for the music of Brusilovsky, Bellini, and Rimsky-Korsakov. To mark the International Women’s Day, Astana Opera presented a series of concerts dedicated to love and romanticism in music. One of such events titled “I love and melt” presented the local audience the pearls of lyrical opera pieces.

– Today I want to present the opera repertoire, my  lyric characters to  my audience. To show how composers interpret a lyrical character in various circumstances, various countries, at various times, their special treatment of the special feeling of love, to show what inspires the composer uses to create these characters.

The audience listened to the heartfelt performances by Azamat Zheltyrguzov and Ramzat Balakishiyev. No one was left untouched by the wonderful and romantic pieces of music performed by talented musicians of Astana Opera.
